Go Green in ’13! Introducing The 360 Skin ‘Green Peel’

January 4, 2013 4:41 pm

Here at 360 Skin we do SO many chemical peels every week and see firsthand the overwhelmingly positive effects they have on fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and hyperpigmentation. That said, I have even more clients who are too afraid to get a peel based on media representations of what a chemical peel is or what it does to the skin. Too many people are afraid of the word “chemical”, too many folks have seen chemical peels used to comedic effect on television and in films, and many others are terrified of the idea that their skin is going to be “burned off of their face”. Under the guidance of a trained Medical Esthetician chemical peels are a safe, easy, relatively painless way to kick up your skin’s cell turn over and look amazing. However, if you’re still too afraid to commit, I present you with the alternative you’ve been waiting for:

The Green Peel

As you know, facial peels are all about resurfacing the skin and exposing the new, younger looking skin below. The Green Peel is a natural herbal peel, and unlike many chemical peels, there are no acids involved whatsoever. It contains only natural ingredients derived from plants and offers a great alternative to traditional chemical peel.

The Green Peel contains herbs including aloe vera, chamomile, marigold, nettle, equisetum (also called horsetail), and algae in addition to enzymes and vitamins. It is massaged into the skin (technique varying from gentle application to a deeper more vigorous application). The whole procedure takes less than an hour after which your skin will be pink for a day or so and your peeling will begin between days 3-5.

The Green Peel directly stimulates blood flow to the area which brings in much needed nutrients, collagen, and oxygen, providing an even cell turnover of the outer layers of the epidermis. The results are a fresher, more rejuvenated, tightened skin, plumped-up fine lines and wrinkles, and a brighter, more even complexion.

Be sure to wear sunscreen after your peel and avoid the sun completely while you are peeling. Your skin is very fragile as it peels.

At 360 Skin we want you to look and feel your best and the Green Peel is a safe, affordable alternative to traditional chemical peels. Feel free to contact us to discuss this peel more!

    Hi Debbi,
Thanks for the reply! Horsehair is the common name for the plant equisetum. Equisetum is considered a “living fossil”, as it is the only surviving genus of the entire class Equisetopsida, which for over 100 million years dominated the late Paleozoic forests. I see it alot growing along the rivers and creeks of Northern California. Here is some more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equisetum
